Teaching is the profession that teaches all the other professions. ~ Author Unknown

My goal is to reveal one teacher's humble journey of self-reflection, critical analysis, and endless questioning about my craft of teaching and learning alongside my middle school students.

"The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called 'truth'." ~ Dan Rather

Text Complexity Resources from NCTE

I love the National Council for Teachers of English!

Here are some resources to support your students in comprehending today's complex literary texts.
Check out these events on professional collaboration.
  • View the #nctechat Archive on "The Importance of Collaboration."
  • Join us this summer for the CEL Institute on "Critical Issues: Assessment" for focused, collaborative work with literacy leaders from across the country.

Nominate a colleague for the NCTE Outstanding Middle Level Educator Award (formerly the Edwin A. Hoey Award). The language arts magazine Scholastic Scope sponsors this award and provides a cash award of $2,500. Nominations must be submitted by the May 1, 2014 deadline.
