My goal is to reveal one teacher's humble journey of self-reflection, critical analysis, and endless questioning about my craft of teaching and learning alongside my middle school students.

"The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called 'truth'." ~ Dan Rather

For fellow viewers of Race to Nowhere

Your Voice Counts — Join Us Today

Dear Friends,

Thank you for attending the recent screening of Race to Nowhere.

To continue the dialogue that's been started in your community and ensure that your voice is heard, please join us at EndtheRace.org. There you can continue the dialogue started in your community by forming or joining a local group, as well as share your story for consideration in our forthcoming book, to be published by Amy Einhorn Books/Putnam in 2012. The action items at the end of the film can also be found on this site, along with resources and tools to become advocates for change.

On this site you can form or join a local community group, initiate a survey in your school community, sign the petitions and send a letter to the Education Department. The site also contains valuable resources such as research, stories of innovative schools that are making a difference, and a place for students to add their voices.

This is a movement about the change we as individuals, as school communities, as a country and as a global community can make every day, in every way, large and small. But our success depends on the support of people like YOU getting involved. Take this first simple step today and join us in the cause to End the Race to Nowhere.

In our numbers-driven society, it is critical to quantify the critical mass this movement to transform education and safeguard the health of young people is gathering. Please get started by adding your support to the map on this site and including your vision for change. Help us reach our initial goal of 100,000 individuals supporting this grassroots movement.
Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,
The TEAM at Race to Nowhere
