My goal is to reveal one teacher's humble journey of self-reflection, critical analysis, and endless questioning about my craft of teaching and learning alongside my middle school students.

The directions quiz!

I gave this to my 8th graders today and was extremely entertained (or shall I put it -- depressed!) at how many of them were incapable of reading ALL of the directions thoroughly. This activity is worth doing with ANY age!

FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS

NO CORRECT____NO WRONG_______

TEST DIRECTIONS: This test will be a measure of your ability to read and follow directions. You are to choose one correct answer for each of the following questions. Your answers should be placed in the space provided to the left of the questions of this test unless you are directed to do otherwise. There will be ¼ point subtracted from the total number of correct answers to calculate your test score. Read the entire test (all questions) before you begin to answer any of the questions. You will have 20 minutes to answer the 20 questions.

Place three triangles above your name.

Divide the result of questions #1 by 3 and then by 2.
