As a public educator, I aim to share my story with those interested about what really happens inside today's classroom. I hope my stories inspire, educate, and entertain you, as the calling of teaching is never neat or predictable. Please note that my blog content does not necessarily reflect the viewpoints or beliefs of my school district or colleagues.
Super Teacher's Job is Never Done!
Teaching is the profession that teaches all the other professions. ~ Author Unknown
My goal is to reveal one teacher's humble journey of self-reflection, critical analysis, and endless questioning about my craft of teaching and learning alongside my middle school students.

Read Across America -- And Maryland!
Friday, March 2, begins a month long celebration of Reading in the USA and Maryland. The National “Read Across America” program ties in with the opening of the Dr. Seuss movie “The Lorax.” I’m sure a few of our middle school students (and even teachers!) remember reading that book. We have a number of activities and prizes planned for the students here at Ridgeview including:
Every Friday morning during March there will be a “Question of the Week” about Dr. Seuss and his books.
A daily AR Point competition, including recognition for First-Timers.
30 minutes-a-day for 30 days Reading competition.
A book swap with students trading-in books from 3/19-3/22 and exchanging on 3/23 at lunch.
Students currently in the Art rotation will do a Book Cover activity for Narrative Art with Ms. Brame-Suggs.
An earned Read-In during their PE period on 3/29.
I have also ordered a number of “Read Across America” buttons for teachers to wear and help promote reading. Thank you in advance for all you do for Reading! Any questions, please feel free to contact me.
