Teaching is the profession that teaches all the other professions. ~ Author Unknown

My goal is to reveal one teacher's humble journey of self-reflection, critical analysis, and endless questioning about my craft of teaching and learning alongside my middle school students.

"The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called 'truth'." ~ Dan Rather

Can educators close the achievement gap with these lessons learned? Read on!

Making Research a Reality
By Carole C. Hayward

Frequently in today's education headlines, we see stories about how the United States is looking at other countries' models of education to inform our own reform efforts. It's also interesting to note how often international ministries of education express interest in U.S. education frameworks and theories.
ASCD's book translations program continues to grow. ASCD titles are available to non-U.S. publishers and international ministries of education for translation, including the right to publish, sell, and distribute foreign language editions of ASCD books and other products.
To date, our books have been translated into 30 different languages, including Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, Farsi, French, German, Georgian, Greek, Hebrew, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Malaysian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
Nearly 100 publishers outside the United States have requested and received the right to publish, sell, and distribute editions of our books and other products into their own languages.
Some of the more popular titles outside the United States are Teaching with the Brain in Mind; Multiple Intelligences in the Classroom; and Classroom Instruction That Works, 1st Edition
