6,000 kids. 60 schools. 10 weeks. 1 dream.
No, I am not talking about any kind of ridiculous standardized test our students take too much of. I am referring to Mad Hot Ballroom, a 2005 award-winning documentary that follows New York City fourth and fifth graders as they journey into the world of competitive ballroom dance. From their honest, hilarious, and quite poignant perspectives, they learn that dance is not just about steps; it's about life!
I do not think any educator -- or adult -- will be disappointed with this touching and inspiring documentary that encourages EVERYONE to give their best, push their personal limits, and never, ever give up.
Happy viewing -- and dancing!!

As a public educator, I aim to share my story with those interested about what really happens inside today's classroom. I hope my stories inspire, educate, and entertain you, as the calling of teaching is never neat or predictable. Please note that my blog content does not necessarily reflect the viewpoints or beliefs of my school district or colleagues.

My goal is to reveal one teacher's humble journey of self-reflection, critical analysis, and endless questioning about my craft of teaching and learning alongside my middle school students.
